Scope and Content Logboat from Loch of Kilbirnie (no. 4), North Ayrshire The logboat (otherwise known as a 'dugout' or 'canoe') is a simple and 'primitive' boat, but this does not imply that it is necessarily early, most examples recovered being medieval or later in date. This incomplete logboat is one of four found following disturbance of the lochbed through slag-dumping. It has been worked with metal tools and is now in Paisley Museum.
